How to Rebrand Yourself and Increase Your Profits

December 20, 2024

Hello, loves!

I'm a proud boy Mom, world traveler, margarita lover, and brand coach in San Diego who’s empowered over 300 entrepreneurs step into the spotlight, create a brand they’re obsessed with, and flourish in their purpose!

Meet meg

Hey visionary, are you ready for a brand reinvention and wondering how to rebrand yourself to step into your next level of business?

Today, I’m pulling back the curtain and letting you in on all the steps I took for my recent rebrand, so you can kickstart your own transformation and rebrand yourself like a pro!

But first—why did I rebrand in the first place?

Honestly, sticking with my old branding would’ve been so much easier. It helped me build a six-figure brand, so it was clearly working… or so I thought.

Over time, I started feeling out of sync and imposter syndrome crept in hard. I wasn’t proud of my brand anymore. I stopped showing up consistently on social media and in newsletters because my brand no longer reflected where I was headed.

Simply put: I started to feel misaligned.

The truth is—this happens to most business owners. You evolve, especially as a personal brand.

As I shifted into education for photographers, with over 1,000 courses sold, and a fast-growing community—I needed a brand that matched my level of expertise. A brand that would get noticed, especially in the eyes of my future dream clients.

If you’re feeling where I was, keep reading because I’m sharing *exactly* how to rebrand yourself to scale with confidence and grow your income!

My Signature “Visionary Rebrand Method” To Help You Fast Track Your Rebrand

If you’re unsure how to rebrand yourself, the process can seem overwhelming—but when broken down into these three simple steps, it’s so much easier, I promise.

Open up a Google Doc for notes, and let’s get into it!

1. Vision

Start with identifying your brand values, mission statement, and the big 5-10 year vision for your business. These are critical when you’re figuring out how to rebrand yourself to better reflect where you’re going.

It’s important to have a strong vision at the core of everything you do. As an entrepreneur, you wear so many hats, and it’s easy to lose sight of why you started your business in the first place.

Here’s how to define your brand values, which form the foundation of your business and guide your decisions.

→ Identify three to five key brand values

For example, my five brand values are:

    • Empowerment
    • Expertise
    • Flourishing
    • Community
    • Passion

These values help keep me aligned with my vision and allow my brand to stay true to its purpose. Write down three to five that align with your overall vision. Then, head to the next step.

→ Dial in on your mission

Your mission statement should communicate: what you do, who you serve, and why you do it.

The “mission” explains the big transformation. And the “why” unpacked the deeper desire they have. It’s the reason people want to work with you.

For example, here’s my mission statement:

To empower female founders like you to confidently step into the spotlight, create a brand you’re obsessed with, and flourish in your purpose.

Use my example and the three elements—what, who, and why—to draft your mission statement. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect at first; you will refine it over time. Just get your initial ideas down on paper.

→ Fine-tune the BIG vision for your business

Where do you see your business going in the next five years?

    Set clear goals like…

    • Create a six-figure income
    • Get featured in Forbes magazine
    • Serve 1000 women
    • Work a four-day week
    • Sell your business

Whatever your goals are, make sure they align with your lifestyle vision as well. Building your biz around your ideal lifestyle ensures long-term fulfillment, and writing down your goals clarifies your direction so you can achieve them faster.

This is a core focus of my Visionary Rebrand experience, where we work on bringing your big vision to life.

    2. Brand Vibe

Your brand vibe reflects your long-term vision. Consider the mood, aesthetic, and personality that will resonate with your ideal audience.

This is where elements like brand colors, typography, fonts, and logos come into play. You want these to reflect the bigger vision of where you’re headed over the next five or ten years.

Your brand should evolve with you so you don’t outgrow it. Think about:

    • What the mood, feel, and vibe is for your brand that will stand the test of time

    • What feels professional and makes you proud

    • What colors, topography, and branding will resonate with your ideal audience

That last point is crucial when selecting colors and logos to rebrand yourself—your brand needs to appeal to the clients you’re trying to attract.

These are some of the topics we dive into inside of the Visionary Rebrand. We will work closely with my team of incredible brand designers to craft a custom new brand identity for you! This includes a fresh logo suite, intentional topography, branding colors and a mood board that will inform the creative direction of your brand photos. We got you covered!

    3. Visibility

Visibility is often the hardest part, especially when you’re learning how to rebrand yourself effectively.

Crafting a beautiful brand vision and vibe, and capturing it all in a stunning photo shoot is one thing. But stepping into the spotlight and fully embracing your brand’s public presence is a whole different story.

It can feel awkward at first like your brand is going through a “teenage phase.” But this stage is essential for building confidence and finding clarity in how you want to show up in your business.

Programs like my Visionary Rebrand can help you navigate this phase much faster, giving you the support to refine and align your brand.

Here are a few mindset-shifting questions from one of my Visionary Rebrand Workbooks. Take a moment to answer these to take a step toward better visibility.

      1. What has stopped you in the past from showing up more visibly online and for your brand? What has been a roadblock or pattern?

      1. Do you feel aligned with how you’re presenting yourself online? If not, what changes would you make to feel more authentic?

      1. How do you want your audience to perceive you in the next 6 to 12 months, and what steps are you taking to move in that direction?

Have fun filling these out so you can get insight into what needs to shift to be visible in a way that feels easy and fun!

The more you step out and connect with your ideal clients, the more opportunities your business has to grow.

      Find Your Rebrand Support Team

Getting support is key to staying in your zone of genius. So many people helped me on my rebrand, but it all started with a Mastermind. Joining a Brand Mastermind was the game-changer I didn’t know I needed!

I took the VIP route, which came with a full-color analysis and personal styling session. It was my first time working so closely with a stylist for all six of my photo shoot outfits, and let me tell you—it was life-changing!

Feeling confident in how you present your personal brand is priceless!

Here are some of the other amazing women who helped bring my rebrand to life:

      Bernel Westbrook

Bernel played a pivotal role in completely revamping my brand identity, from the logo and color palette to typography and website design.

She didn’t just focus on what looked good; she considered what resonated with the target audience and ensured there was cohesion between the brand’s design and my personal style. Now, I have a brand that feels authentically me—one that I’m excited about and proud to represent.

      Angie McPherson

Angie worked her magic for my brand photo shoot. She’s known for her expertise in the brand photography space and brought my vision to life with stunning visuals that truly captured my brand’s essence.

Angie and I have purchased personal brand sessions from one another several times over the years. As brand photographers, we both value and understand the importance of keeping our photos fresh and up-to-date!

      Elizabeth Root

Elizabeth did my makeup and is a trusted makeup artist specializing in natural glam. She’s worked with dozens of my clients and always brings out their best, enhancing their natural beauty without overdoing it.

I only collaborate with artists I truly trust, and Elizabeth’s flawless work always leaves everyone feeling confident and camera-ready.

      Krysten Leigh May

Krysten, my stylist, was incredible! She really took the time to understand my style, asking about what color palette aligns with my brand, and which outfits make me feel confident.

She handled all the shopping and just sent me the links to click “buy”—so easy! She really helped me step out of my style comfort zone. The final looks perfectly matched my new brand vibe and really popped on camera!

      Katie Kabel

Katie is a certified color specialist who helped me with my style colors last year. Feeling amazing in your skin starts with wearing colors that enhance your natural features.

Color is so important for captivating attention online and connecting with more dream clients on a subconscious level. Katie’s expertise in color has truly transformed my style, helping me make a lasting impression both in person and online.

      Krystal Carter

Krystal was a lifesaver when it came to my website copy! I had spent hours trying to write it myself, but website copy needs to be strategic, SEO-friendly, and speak directly to your ideal client.

After working with Krystal for over two years, she knows my brand and voice perfectly. When she delivered the copy, it was spot on, with barely any changes needed. Her questionnaire and questions made the process so much easier. I’m so glad I trusted her with my website!

It’s Your Turn to step into the Spotlight as the Visionary you are

Okay love, now it’s your turn to take the wheel! I know it can be challenging to find time to refine your branding as a female founder because we wear so many hats! But at the end of the day, it’s key that you love your brand, and feel aligned with the messaging your brand is putting out.

If you want premium support inside of a 4-month coaching program with me, check out Visionary Rebrand. I would love to help you dial in all the things that will make your brand complete!
